Water Outage at SDSU

On January 12, 2024, a water main break off campus in San Diego was reported. The water main break has reportedly caused SDSU to lose water. Facilities Services team members are working in coordination with the City of San Diego Water Department. More information will be shared once details are confirmed.

January 12, 2024 at 5:31 p.m.: SDSU Alert: An all clear has been called following a water outage that impacted SDSU earlier today. The City of San Diego Water Department has confirmed that the issue is resolved. SDSU Imperial Valley was not impacted by the water outage.

January 12, 2024 at 7:37 a.m.: The City of San Diego Water Department has been able to isolate the water outage and water has been restored to SDSU. While the city continues repairs, parts of the west side of the campus may periodically experience low water pressure throughout the day. The estimate for repairs remains at 6 p.m. and SDSU will continue to monitor the situation. SDSU Imperial Valley is not impacted.

January 12, 2024 at 6:24 a.m.: SDSU Alert: SDSU is aware of an unplanned water outage impacting the university this morning, which was reportedly caused by an off campus water main break. Crews are on scene to assess the issue and are in communications with the City of San Diego Water Department, which estimates a 6 p.m. repair. SDSU Imperial Valley is not impacted. Updates to follow.
