Oct. 9 Weather Update: Monitoring Storm Activity in Imperial County
SDSU and SDSU Imperial Valley are actively monitoring current storm activity in Imperial County and surrounding areas. Moisture from what remains of Hurricane Priscilla in the Pacific will bring a chance of rain and isolated thunderstorms Thursday and Friday in Southern California. The university is receiving regular updates from the Imperial County Fire Department and Office of Emergency Services (OES).
- As of Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. campus operations at SDSU Imperial Valley remain normal, and there are no weather-related impacts at SDSU.
- No closures or schedule changes are in effect.
- University officials will continue to monitor conditions and share updates as needed through official channels.
Guidance
- Flooding can result in water quickly taking over roadways, including streets and highways. Even though rainfall may have subsided, flooding may persist for some time.
